Winter Fairytales

Another winter disappears
In the fondness of summer night,
And the night sky in all its glory-
Let’s the cricket sing
The woods to sleep,
Eyes of astonishment look past
All things that must be seen,
There is ice thawing out
And taking the remains of the cold-
Winter scents and winter songs
Don’t you think they feel alone?
Even the malice of the forests
Wouldn’t accept it as clarity-
Summer becomes snake’s honey
And snowflakes are left to thaw out,
And you can ask snowbound fairytales
What it must be like to be
Unloved, harsh and barren.
